Studying English has enabled my writing to improve and mature. It has broadened my reading, challenging me to explore new genres that I would not normally read. Most importantly, it has also been enjoyable as the lessons are always varied and stimulating.

English is the language that we speak and write; it is all around us everyday. In the English Department at Hautlieu we aim to bring the language alive through study of ‘real’ texts, as well as literature of the past and present. We deliberately choose the most up to date and topical issues for our students to explore, to show you that there is much more to our language than just empty words.
