History is more or less bunk. It's tradition. We don't want tradition. We want to live in the present and the only history that is worth a tinker's damn is the history we make today.

Studying History gives me a real buzz. Not only does a historical understanding give you a clearer insight into the events of today’s World, but history compliments almost any combination of subjects. The ability to make connections between the past and present has proved invaluable to my studies at A-Level.

Studying history has become increasingly important in an ever changing world. The global problems our world faces are increasingly encouraging interdependence amongst cultures and societies. The History we study focuses on explaining how trends and developments such as democracy, discrimination and authoritarianism continue to shape our present. Be prepared to ask a lot of questions and to recognise the past does have a present meaningful to you!
